I bought a rosette iron from goodwill last spring, and I wanted to know how hard it would be to make them!

They aren't really that hard to make you just have to make sure you have a hot enough oil temp.

How I made them was:

  • 2 Tablespoons granulated sugar

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 2 eggs

  • 2 tablespoons neutral oil (canola or vegetable)

  • 1 cup milk

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • Vegetable Oil for Frying

  • Powdered sugar for the top

First, I started the oil and got it up to temp (375 degrees)

Second, I set my iron the oil for 20 seconds.

Third, Dipped the iron in the batter half up the side the flower portion of the iron

Fourth, Dipped in oil for 1 minute

I had a wire rack with paper towels underneath and I took a fork a pryed off the rosette.

Immediately put powdered sugar on top.
